Here’s What a Barrie Sylvan Tutor Guarantees. |

We offer you a guarantee in the two core subjects: Academic Reading and Math essentials. We expect that after 36 hours of instruction, your child will increase his scores as measured by the Canadian Achievement test at least one grade equivalent from his initial assessment.
We like to make other promises too that are not as easy to qualify. One is that you’ll see your child’s confidence improve when we engage him with a great tutor. Too often, our children suffer quietly at school because no one wants to admit that they “don’t get it.”
When a child “opens up,” tension slips away, and he’s able to understand concepts better. Perhaps your child will finally “get” the algebra problem, ace a physics, chemistry or biology quiz, or an English essay will earn a higher grade.

A Sylvan Skills Assessment involves several hours of probing your child’s academic strengths and needs. The time spent with our management team, gives the student a sense of the warm, supportive environment at our centre. It also allows our education team the opportunity to carefully set academic goals for your child based on discussion with parents and classroom teachers.
Our approach always considers the multiple learning styles before determining the way your child naturally learns best.
We offer students a Personalized Learning Program that involves direct instruction, guided and independent practice, and mastery learning. As well, customized, personalized instruction, designed to give skills and rebuild confidence is offered in a 3:1 student teacher setting. |

All Barrie Sylvan teachers are certified teachers with the Ontario College of Teachers. Most are already teaching in the classroom. When you request a Sylvan tutor for your child, you can relax knowing we have screened and specially trained each tutor in our Sylvan delivery methods.
With a little encouragement, students with plans and dreams of majoring in chemistry, biology, and physics will discover the initiative to become more disciplined when it comes time to study.
